Victory Day is a holiday of national pride and dignity

 November 8 – Victory Day was solemnly celebrated by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Italy and the Holy See in the Cultural Center of our country in Rome.

Azerbaijanis living in Italy, students, officers, ambassadors and diplomats of Turkish states, as well as employees of our embassies took part in the Victory Day event.

The victory event started with the listening of our National Anthem. Later, Ambassador Rashad Aslanov spoke and said that November 8 – Victory Day is our national pride holiday, the celebration of the power of our people. He noted that this is a Victory Day, a holiday of courage, a holiday of restoration of historical justice, a holiday of national pride and dignity.

He said that our brave Army under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev won the Patriotic War for 44 days, and after the local anti-terrorist operation in September of this year, fully restored our territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The memory of our martyrs who died for the freedom of Azerbaijan lands was commemorated with respect.

Later, the military parade in Khankendi dedicated to the third anniversary of the Victory achieved in the Patriotic War was shown and the speech of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was heard.

The event was continued with a feast of our national cuisine.
