The anniversary of National Leader was celebrated in Italy

An event was held in the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy on the occasion of the 101^st anniversary of the National Leader of Azerbaijan - Heydar Aliyev.

Heads of diplomatic corps accredited in Italy, Azerbaijanis living and studying in this country, employees of our embassies in Rome and Vatican participated in the event.

The ambassador of our country to Italy, Rashad Aslanov, noted the unparalleled services rendered by National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the progress and development of our country during his leadership in Azerbaijan.

He noted that the National Leader will always be remembered with deep respect by our people as the founder of the independent and modern state of Azerbaijan. At a time when our independence is under the threat, the National Leader's sacrifice for the welfare of our people and the protection of our independence will remain in our memories with his strong will to establish an international organization.

The diplomat emphasized that the personality and legacy of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev played a great role in gaining prestige and trust of our country not only in the region, but worldwide, and in liberating our lands from occupation. The ambassador mentioned that the liberation of our lands occupied for thirty years was the biggest dream of Heydar Aliyev, and today we are witnessing the realization of that dream as a result of the unparalleled diplomatic and military efforts of the President of the Azerbaijani Republic, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

In the artistic part of the event, Zarif Karimova, the head teacher of the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Baku Music Academy, played classical music, including Azerbaijani songs, on the piano, and Nargiz Aliyeva, the soloist of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra, played the flute. Later, the event continued with a reception.
