Opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani digital art exhibition "Shusha: Dance of Symbols" was held in Milan
On March 5, 2024 in Milan, Italy, the opening ceremony of the digital exhibition "Shusha. Dance of symbols" was held.
The exhibition, which will last until March 9, will feature digital artworks created by an artificial intelligence named "Shusha Khanum" based on the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, especially paintings depicting national motifs.
It should be noted that the "Shusha" artificial intelligence project was created by the Azerbaijani and Turkish artists and engineers of the "Mezzo Art" digital art group under the leadership of our compatriot Nabat Garakhanova, who lives in Türkiye, in order to revive the ancient traditional art of Shusha, the cradle of Azerbaijan's culture, through innovative technologies.
On March 5, at the opening event of the exhibition, the founder of MEET Cultural Center, Maria Grazia Mattei, and Julie Walsh, a curator from Chicago, specialized in Contemporary Asian Art, spoke and informed about the 2024 Istanbul Digital Art Festival, talked about the exhibition's transformation of Azerbaijan's cultural heritage into a digital format and taking art lovers on a unique journey.
Nabat Garakhanova, the creator of the "Shusha" artificial intelligence project, gave detailed information to the guests about the creation of the project. She said that this exhibition transcends the boundaries of technology and presents the history and cultural richness of Azerbaijan to art lovers, brings the cultural influences that have shaped the Silk Road for centuries into the digital world. At the same time N.Garakhanova underlined that the fine work of Shusha Khanum takes the traditional art of Azerbaijan to the future.
Representatives of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy, as well as the Consulate General of Türkiye in Milan, representatives of cultural, press and academic circles of Italy and Azerbaijanis living in Italy took part in the opening event.
