Ambassador of Azerbaijan visited the Republic of San Marino
On January 16-17, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of San Marino, Rashad Aslanov, visited the Republic of San Marino. Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador had meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Economic Cooperation and Telecommunications (Secretary of State) of San Marino Luca Beccari, Minister of Labor and Energy (Secretary of State) Teodoro Lonfernini, and the head of the delegation of San Marino at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Oscar Mina, and the member of the delegation, Michele Muratori.
During the meetings, Ambassador R. Aslanov discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and San Marino in various fields, including economic, energy, culture, tourism, education, inter-parliamentary collaboration and etc. He said that there are wide opportunities for the development of bilateral relations in the mentioned fields. Also, R. Aslanov drew attention to the importance of conducting political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs on regional and international issues along with bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of mutual visits. Detailed information was provided on the current state of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, demining, restoration and construction works in the liberated territories, as well as the fact that Azerbaijan will host a major event such as COP29 in 2024.
The counterparts also said that they are interested in reinforcing relations with Azerbaijan. They emphasized that the creation of friendship groups in the Parliaments of the two countries will make an important contribution to the development of the bilateral relations, and congratulated Azerbaijan for hosting such an important event as COP29.
