Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Edmondo Cirielli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic
On January 13, 2026, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Edmondo Cirielli, who was visiting our country.
The meeting expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy within the bilateral framework and discussed the prospects for multidimensional strategic partnership relations between the two countries in political, security, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian, educational and other areas. In particular, the importance of joint projects in the fields of energy and education, and the activities of the Italy-Azerbaijan University was noted.
It was emphasized that the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Italy, held today in Baku, was successfully completed, and the agreements reached will give additional impetus to relations between the two countries.
The parties also exchanged views on the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, including energy and transport projects, and alternative energy projects.
During the meeting, other international and regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Italy. The consultations were chaired by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev on the Azerbaijani side and Deputy Minister Edmondo Cirielli on the Italian side.
