Minister Jeyhun Bayramov Meets with the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy, as well as the post-conflict situation in the region.
The sides emphasized the importance of high-level contacts, visits, and dialogue, as well as parliamentary diplomacy in developing the existing multidimensional strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy. The importance of parliamentary diplomacy, including mutual visits of parliamentary speakers and representatives, was highlighted as one of the key pillars of strategic partnership.
It was noted with appreciation that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in political, economic, energy, trade, transport, communications, and humanitarian spheres continue successfully. Long-term collaboration in the energy sector, particularly Azerbaijan’s significant role in Europe’s energy security, was specifically highlighted. Additionally, the establishment of the Italy-Azerbaijan University was recognized as an important boost to bilateral strategic partnership.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the post-conflict situation in the region, the outcomes of the historic Washington meeting, and the large-scale reconstruction and development work in the liberated territories.
The sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
