Azerbaijan showcases its archaeological and cultural tourism opportunities in Italy
The exhibition, held from 21-23 February 2025, featured presentations about Azerbaijan’s ancient history and archaeological monuments, organized by the State Tourism Agency in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy. Visitors were informed about international cooperation opportunities and ongoing efforts to develop Azerbaijan’s archaeological heritage as a tourism product.
Presentations included a talk by renowned Italian archaeologist Nicola Laneri, who highlighted the historical significance of “Tava Tepe”, one of Azerbaijan’s oldest archaeological settlements.
As part of the exhibition, the State Tourism Agency conducted a series of B2B meetings aimed at enhancing the attractiveness of archaeological heritage for tourism and developing new tourism routes. Cooperation opportunities were discussed with tourism companies, tour operators specializing in archaeological tours, and scientific and cultural organizations.
The exhibition gathered specialized tourism organizations from around the world, including tourism companies, archaeoparks, museums, and research institutions.
