Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture is on a working visit to Italy
A delegation led by Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov is on a working visit to Italy.
On June 27, 2025, a meeting was held with Mariateresa Maschio, President of the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (“FederUnacoma”), as part of the visit. At the meeting, the Minister provided detailed information on the work being done in our country under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to develop the agricultural sector. Noting that the agricultural sector in our country is exempt from all taxes, except for land tax, the Minister noted that there are strong state support mechanisms in the form of subsidies, loans and concessions for the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan. The meeting discussed the issue of holding a presentation of modern agricultural machinery in Azerbaijan by Italian supplier companies.
In turn, Mariateresa Maschio, President of the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (“FederUnacoma”), provided detailed information on the activities of the organization she represents. She noted that the federation unites companies producing modern agricultural machinery and equipment. M.Maschio stressed their interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the agricultural sector.
The meeting discussed the expansion of cooperation in the agricultural sector, in particular, the renewal of the agricultural machinery fleet of Azerbaijan and increasing the level of mechanization, the prospects for establishing an Italian Agricultural Machinery Center in our country, the possibilities of implementing joint initiatives aimed at promoting resource-saving technologies, and other issues of mutual interest.
On June 28, 2025, a delegation led by Majnun Mammadov got acquainted with the activities of the famous “Castel DePaolis” wine production enterprise located in the Lazio region.
The delegation visited the vineyards of the wine-making enterprise and became interested in modern production technologies and quality control mechanisms. The members of the delegation were provided with detailed information about the activities of the enterprises, raw material supply, production capacity and product export, and were informed that products complying with high quality standards are produced.
During the meeting, the current situation in wine production, the development of this sector, innovations applied in the production process, exchange of experience in the agricultural sector between business entities of the two countries, issues of ecologically sustainable production and increasing export potential were discussed. The parties exchanged views on supporting small and medium-sized wine producers and expanding access to international markets.
