Mikayil Jabbarov held a series of meetings in Italy

During the meetings held within the framework of the visit of Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov to Italy, the prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-Italy economic relations were discussed.

As part of his visit to Italy, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Enterprises and "Made in Italy" of that country. It was stated that Azerbaijan and Italy attach great importance to the strengthening of multifaceted strategic partnership. The role of our country's Middle Corridor, an important trade route connecting East and West, in development was noted at the meeting, and information was provided about the attractive investment opportunities created for entrepreneurs.

The meeting underscored the successful operations of Italian companies operating in various sectors of the economy in our country, and the importance of further expanding cooperation between business circles was emphasized.

During a meeting with the Minister of Environment and Energy Security of the Republic of Italy, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, the positive results of cooperation in the energy sector were noted. It was stated that energy cooperation is an important driving force of bilateral economic relations between our countries. The implementation of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), one of the segments of the Southern Gas Corridor, is a significant historical stage in our relations. In addition, Azerbaijan is interested in cooperating with Italian companies that have the necessary experience and know-how in the supply of "green" energy, production of "green" hydrogen and transportation. The meeting emphasized the importance of the project, which envisages the export of "green energy" from Central Asia to Europe through Azerbaijan, in supporting the "green transition".

Ministers also shared their views on the priorities of COP29, its global benefits and potential partnership opportunities.

The Minister of Economy also met with Mr. Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of Italy.

It was stated that the involvement of Italian companies in various sectors of the Azerbaijani economy, including reconstruction projects in the liberated territories, is an indicator of strong economic ties and there is potential for further expansion of this partnership. In particular, the study of Italy's advanced experience in agriculture, agricultural machinery, and irrigation is of great importance, as is the development of partnership relations in this direction.

During the meeting, the goals of sustainable economic growth, efficient use of resources and ensuring food security were discussed. The parties expressed their intention to develop partnership in this direction and to turn the existing potential into reality.
