ARDNF delegation conducts series of meetings on business trip to Italy

The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARDNF) delegation, headed by Executive Director Israfil Mammadov, conducted a business trip to Italy with the aim of looking at the prospects of investing in the development of the long-term cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy.

During the visit, Israfil Mammadov met with a number of representatives of the Italian government, such as Deputy Foreign Minister Edmondo Cirielli, Minister of "Made in Italy" Adolfo Urso, and Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Marcello Sala. They discussed in their talks the high-level economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy, the development of bilateral relations, and the deepening of mutual investment processes.

The ARDNF delegation, which oversees 2.3 billion USD of an investment portfolio in Italy's capital market, also encountered the representatives of top infrastructure firms and investors of Italy's digital, transport, and energy markets. They were Luigi Ferraris, FiberCop's managing director; Pietro Labriola, TIM managing director; Orlando Barucci, Vitale & CO CEO, and his business partner Professor Fabrizio Pagani; SNAM's managing director Stefano Venier, and CFO Luca Passa; Paolo Ciocca, Open Fiber CEO; and Giovanni Gorno Tempini, CDP CEO.

The meetings discussed the state of economic and trade relations between the two nations, the enhancement of mutual investments, and opportunities of more intensive cooperation. The strengthening of partnership relations in all spheres was called for. Both sides expressed an interest in the encouragement of economic cooperation, sustainable development, and mutual investment. Discussions also involved the exchange of ideas on areas of cooperation with significant social, environmental, and economic significance that would have the effect of further enhancing Azerbaijan-Italy partnership.
