Azerbaijan contributes to the Food and Agriculture Museum and Network
On October 16, 2025, the opening ceremony of the Food and Agriculture Museum and Network (FAO MuNe) was held at the Headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the participation of the Italian President Sergio Mattarella. On behalf of Azerbaijan, Leyla Aliyeva's work “Blue Dolphins” from the MAMA – Mother Nature series was presented to the Museum.
It should be noted that the work in question was exhibited during the “MAMA - Mother Nature” exhibition held at the MAXXI Museum in Rome in May 2025. The work was presented to the FAO Director-General by Leyla Aliyeva, who attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The Director-General Qu Dongyu personally initiated the presentation of the work to the FAO Museum.
For information, the Network serves as a center for cooperation and dialogue between FAO members and partners, and promotes partnerships between countries and regions. The network showcases local, national and global experiences, offering a virtual space to share knowledge, raise awareness, protect agri-food systems and traditions, and promote sustainable practices. It also facilitates the exchange of cultures, heritage and best practices related to food and agriculture worldwide.
With an area of 1.300 square meters, the FAO MuNe is not a museum in the traditional sense. It aims to be a dynamic educational platform designed to make complex issues such as food security, sustainability, nutrition and, above all, the future of agri-food systems increasingly threatened by the climate crisis and armed conflict accessible to all.
