A ceremony was held in Rome to mark the 102nd anniversary of the birth of the Great Leader Haydar Aliyev
The event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Haydar Aliyev was held at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Italian Republic.
Our fellow citizens living and studying in this country participated in the event organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy.
Gulnar Taghizade, Deputy Director of the Cultural Center, spoke about the unmatched services of the Great Leader in strengthening and developing the independence of Azerbaijan.
In his address, Rashad Aslanov, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Italy, underscored the unparalleled services of the National Leader of Azerbaijan, architect and founder of our modern and independent state Haydar Aliyev in the restoration of our country’s independence, strengthening of its sovereignty, progress and improvement. He spoke about the crucial role of the Great Leader in the history of Azerbaijan, indicating his strategy towards the prevention of threats against our independence, establishment of public-political stability in the country, creation of state institutions, placing the country on the way of socio-economic progress and sustainable development, integration into the system of international relations, provision of regional and international prestige.
Diplomat talked about tireless efforts of the Great Leader in transforming Azerbaijan into an independent, modern, and strong state of the region. It was stated that the National Leader Haydar Aliyev was always commemorated with a deep respect by our people as the founder of the independent and modern Azerbaijani state. During a period marked by threats against our independence, The Great Leader’s sacrifice for our people’s welfare and for the protection of our independence, and his strong will for the establishment of international cooperation will always remain deeply in our memory. Additionally, it was highlighted that throughout his leadership, special attention was given to development of the youth, particularly the promotion of the youth’s study at abroad, and this policy is realized by our state at the highest level today.
Rashad Aslanov emphasized the great role of Haydar Aliyev’s personality and legacy in achieving the influence or reputation not only regionally, but globally, as well as in the liberation of our territories. The ambassador stated that liberation of our territories staying under the occupation for 30 years was the greatest wish of Haydar Aliyev, and today we witness the realization of this desire due the diplomatic and military efforts of our country’s President and Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev.
The ambassador highlighted that Azerbaijan has emerged as a strong state that has restored the territorial integrity, pursues an independent policy, promotes the regional security and peace, and acts as an initiator and executor of global projects.
In the artistic part of the event, works of Azerbaijani and world composers were performed by an opera artist Chinara Shirin living in Italy.
