Meeting with LUISS University students was held in Rome

The Azerbaijan Cultural Center operating under the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Italian Republic held an event dedicated to youth and their development with the participation of students studying at LUISS University in the “Global Governance and Politics” specialty. The event was dedicated to the expansion of academic and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy.

In his speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Italian Republic, Rashad Aslanov, stated that Azerbaijani-Italian relations are of a strategic nature, noted that projects implemented in the energy sector are one of the main directions connecting the two countries, and provided extensive information about the history of Azerbaijan's independence, as well as international events hosted by our country. The diplomat also spoke about the opening ceremony of the Italy-Azerbaijan University, which was held in 2025 with the participation of the leaders of both countries, and about the prospects of the university in question.

It was noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan implements a consistent state policy in the direction of youth welfare and education. Education and employment programs, innovation initiatives, sports and cultural projects serve the active participation of young people in socio-economic and public life. This policy is aimed at forming a generation loyal to national values, educated and competitive.

In her speech, Manuela Traldi, President of the Italy-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, spoke about the development of economic relations between the two countries, provided information about the activities of the Chamber and invited students to visit Azerbaijan in order to get to know it better. She also touched upon the extensive cultural and humanitarian projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Italy and the Vatican, and emphasized that the country, whose population is overwhelmingly Muslim, attaches great importance to the preservation of the Christian cultural heritage.

Gulnar Taghizada, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, provided information about the activities of the Center, its main principles and implemented cultural projects, and drew attention to the work done to promote Azerbaijani culture in Italy.

Then, the students participated in a quiz about Azerbaijan. The quiz was met with interest by the participants and contributed to increasing knowledge about the country.

At the end of the event, the students got acquainted with the museums located in the Cultural Center, and were given detailed information about Azerbaijani culture.
