National Leader Heydar Aliyev's memory was respected in Italy
On December 12, 2025, the beloved memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was respected with honor in Rome, the capital city of Italy. The guests of the event initially paid their respect to a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy, Rashad Aslanov, noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev made an unprecedented contribution to the restoration of independence in Azerbaijan, the strengthening of sovereignty, greater presence on the international stage, and economic consolidation. The Ambassador replied to the tireless efforts of the Great Leader in the realization of public-political stability in the state, the creation of institutions of the state, a line of socio-economic development and sustainable growth, integration into the world system of relations, becoming regional and world-scale influence, and transforming into an independent, new, and strong state in the region.
It was stressed that the statehood consolidation policy, executed by and developed successfully by President Ilham Aliyev today, has transformed Azerbaijan into one of the global key players in the shaping of world relations and an actor of regional stability and progress.
The diplomat went on to say that now Azerbaijan is a powerful state that has regained its territorial integrity, pursues an independent foreign policy, advocates for regional security and tranquility, and is an initiator and executor of the worldwide projects.
