Italian RAI TV channel airs another report on Azerbaijan

The Italian RAI 1 TV channel's TG1 news program aired another report on Azerbaijan.

The report, authored by the channel's journalist Barbara Carfagna, who was seconded to our country, states that only a few walls remain intact in the area destroyed for kilometers in Garabagh after the 30-year war between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It is emphasized that $18 billion has been invested in restoration and reconstruction projects carried out here since 2021. However, the level of contamination of the liberated territories with mines and unexploded ordnance hinders restoration work. During the occupation, Armenia buried approximately 1.5 million mines and ordnance in Azerbaijani territories. Mines not only cause physical damage, but also psychological trauma to the victim and his/her social context. Currently, drones, sensitive dogs and rats are used in demining activities in the region.

The report highlights that alternative energy sources have been created to meet domestic electricity demand thanks to "smart" technologies implemented in the village of Aghaly in the Zangilan region of Azerbaijan.
