Exhibition dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is being held in Rome

On May 11, 2026, the opening ceremony of the group exhibition of Azerbaijani artists entitled “Colors of Time: The View of Azerbaijani Artists” dedicated to the 103rd  anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Adnkronos Information Center in Rome.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps and academic circles, media representatives and our compatriots living in Rome attended the opening ceremony.

The opening speech was delivered by Rashad Aslanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Italian Republic. The Ambassador noted that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who came to power in the difficult days of our country in the 90s of the last century, emphasized the important role of youth and culture in building a bright future of a country, and as a result of his far-sighted policy, paid special attention to the development of these areas. Thus, R. Aslanov, who said that today there are young and talented Azerbaijani artists who are widely known outside the country, brought to the attention of the event participants that the works of 14 of them were exhibited at today's exhibition.

Then, Gulnar Taghizade, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Italy, provided detailed information about the exhibition, recalling the words of the National Leader that “culture is one of the most powerful means of uniting peoples”, stated that the works glorify both Azerbaijan and Italy, and are the embodiment of the cultural ties that exist and are becoming stronger between the two countries.

The works of artists Aylal Heydarova, Jasar Mammadov, Ayan Aziz Mammadova, Nizar Mammadov, Aynur Sakitgizi, Nihad Agazade, Tomris Valiyeva, Khanlar Asadullayev, Sevinj Mahamaliyeva, Agshin Kazimov, Emiliya Asadullayeva, Mahir Gafarov, Sevinj Hajiyeva, Chinara Bakhshiyeva-Gafarova were met with great interest by visitors to the exhibition.
