Azerbaijani students gather in Rome
With the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy, the Youth Foundation, the Azerbaijani Students and Alumni Platform (ASAP), and the Azerbaijani-Italy Alumni Association (AZIAA), the first meeting of Azerbaijani students and alumni was conducted in Rome, the capital of Italy.
During the gathering, the beloved memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was honored, and presentations were made about his life and his profound contribution to the state.
Tural Mammadov, Head of the Youth Policy and Sports Affairs Department in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, talked about the successful continuation of the tradition of education abroad, initiated by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and the crucial impact of this policy in enhancing the nations position on the international arena.
In his speech, Gadir Khalilov, Acting Executive Director of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated that National Leader Heydar Aliyev, as in every domain sector of society, played pivotal role in the establishment of the significant legislative framework for the effective execution of youth policy. He also spoke about the work done by the Foundation to create opportunities for youth, applied their innovative ideas, empower their participation in global initiatives, and assist Azerbaijani youth studying abroad.
After that, Sevda Mansurova, Executive Director of ASAP, mentioned about the support and attention demonstrated by National Leader Heydar Aliyev towards the youth development. She highlighted the significance of solidarity among Azerbaijani youth receiving education abroad and delivered a presentation on the key activities, purpose, and objectives of ASAP, as well as its initiatives to serve as a voice for Azerbaijani youth on the international arena and the formation of a representation in Italy.
During the networking part of the event, discussions were arranged regarding cooperation with organizations, universities, and institutions operating in Italy, boosting the activity and participation of Azerbaijani youth in cooperation with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy, identifying key areas that address the interests and needs of Azerbaijani youth residing in Italy, and coordinating events and projects focused at their personal and professional growth. Suggestions on these topics were also raised.
