Azerbaijan National Clothes were represented in Rome
Cultural event titled “Mysterious World of Azerbaijani National Clothes” was held at historic Palazzo Brancaccio located in Rome, the capital city of Italy.
The aim of the event, organized jointly by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy, Azerbaijan Culture Centre in Italy, and Baku National Costume House, was to present the richness of Azerbaijan national clothing heritage to the international society, promote cultural values, and contribute to the development of Azerbaijan-Italy relations.
Speaking at the opening of the event, organizers provided information about the historical roots, regional patterns, and aesthetic contrasts of Azerbaijan national clothes. It was noted that national clothes are crucial examples of cultural memory reflecting our people’s lifestyle, taste and social identity.
During the fashion show, examples of woman-man national clothes from various regions of Azerbaijan and from Baku National Dress House were presented. The garments decorated with delicate patterns, handmade elements, and original details, were met with great interest by the audience.
Members of the State Dance Ensemble took the stage and performed Azerbaijani folk dances in the national clothes. These performances granted the audience a vivid impression of our people’s rich dance culture and clothing aesthetics.
The members of diplomatic corps, representatives of Italy’s art and fashion sectors, public officials, and culture lovers attended the event.
