Azerbaijan is represented at the Bologna International Children's Book Fair
On March 31, the Bologna International Children's Book Fair, the world's largest children's book fair, began its work. With the organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy, our country is represented at the fair with a special stand.
A delegation of local writers and publishers, led by Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov, is participating in the fair. The national stand with an updated design presents more than 200 copies of books and publications of more than 160 titles published by Azerbaijani publishing houses such as "Sharq-Garb", "Libra Kitab", "Qalam", "Everest", "Tahsil, "Aspoligraf", "Altun Kitab", "Qanun", "Ting", "Oskar", "Zeka Print", "Radius" for young readers.
The delegation of our country participated in a number of events within the framework of the exhibition. Business meetings were held with the delegation of the Republic of Türkiye, as well as with representatives of publishing houses, children's authors and illustrators representing countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, Italy, Poland, Canada, and the Netherlands, and issues of cooperation in the field of book and publishing were discussed.
On the occasion of the Novruz holiday, an event was organized to present our national customs and traditions, and extensive information was provided to the exhibition participants and visitors about the history, culture, literature, and book art of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Minister F. Jafarov met with Elena Pasoli, head of the Organizing Committee of the Bologna International Children's Book Fair, within the framework of the exhibition. During the meeting cooperation between the Bologna Book Fair and the Baku International Book Fair, the use of the Bologna Fair's experience at the Baku Book Fair, as well as the possibility of Azerbaijan's participation as an honorary guest at the Bologna Book Fair in the future have been discussed.
The exhibition, which will last until April 3, includes book presentations by Azerbaijani authors and business meetings of local publishers with colleagues from different countries.
