Azerbaijan's wine tourism opportunities are being showcased in Italy
The Slow Wine fair held in Bologna, Italy, presents Azerbaijan's community-based winemaking traditions.
The exhibition, where our country is represented for the second time, promotes the opportunities of gastrotourism and wine tourism, and introduces guests to biodiversity products from national production examples for wine tasting. Our country is represented at the fair by "Khindogny" wines made from the grape varieties of the same name collected from the Tugh village of the Khojavend region, which is produced in accordance with the requirements of "Slow Wine", and other community-based wines.
The exhibition, which will last until February 25, is expected to attract the participation of more than 1.000 winemakers and representatives of wineries, as well as more than 10.000 visitors. As part of the Slow Food movement, Slow Wine promotes cultural and biological diversity, the preservation of traditions based on reducing environmental impacts, sustainable production, and agroecological practices, based on the characteristics of the unique grape varieties of each wine region.
