Azerbaijan represented at the 58th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors

From May 4 to 7, 2025, the 58th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was held in Milan, Italy.

Held under the theme “Sharing Experience, Building Tomorrow,” the Annual Meeting was attended by a delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by Azer Mursagulov, Director of the State Debt and Financial Obligations Management Agency under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of the Annual Meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation held bilateral meetings with Rachel Thompson, the Executive Director representing Azerbaijan on the ADB Board of Directors, Evgeny Zhukov, Director General of the Central and West Asia Regional Department of the ADB, and Haimaa Al-Sheiby, Vice President for Public Sector and Strategy of the OPEC Fund for International Development. The meetings focused on current cooperation, as well as financing opportunities for projects identified as priorities by the country, particularly in the fields of transport, water supply, and sanitation.

Founded in 1966, the Asian Development Bank’s main objective is to support the economic development of its member countries by contributing to poverty reduction and improving living standards. Azerbaijan became a member of the Bank in 1999. The 48th Annual Meeting of the ADB was held in Baku in 2015.
