Press release 23 November 2025

Azerbaijan made a successful debut at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – the Venice Biennale

The 19th International Architecture Exhibition, themed "Intelligens: Natural. Artificial. Collective.," curated by Carlo Ratti, successfully concluded in Venice on November 23, 2025, after a significant run from May 10 to November 23, 2025, showcasing innovative approaches to sustainability and technology in architecture across Giardini, Arsenale, and Forte Marghera.

Azerbaijan’s debut at the “Biennale Architettura 2025” was marked by 3 stunning projects (Equilibrium: Patterns of Azerbaijan: Regenerate. Innovate. Preserve.), embodying the timeless efforts of multiple generations. Regeneration aims to create a new, sustainable balance to reimagine nature, society, and cities. The Baku White City Project, implemented in the former oil refining district, demonstrates the renovation of an entire district. Innovation resets the connection between humankind and the environment, solidifying links that unite the past with the future, and the local with the global. Victory Park, a modern and vibrant city park located on the border between land and sea, was designed for communication and rest. Preservation in Azerbaijan takes the form of a dialogue between the past and the future, respecting its cultural and natural heritage. The Zangilan Mosque embodies this approach, respectfully restoring ancient traditions, preserving remnants, understanding historic milestones, and passing them on to future generations.

The Commissioner of the Azerbaijan Pavilion, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy Rashad Aslanov, visited the pavilion and attended the closing ceremony.
